Kesar Petroproducts starts trial production at Ratnagiri



Kesar Petroproducts Ltd announced that it had started trial production at its new fertiliser plant at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. The plant with an annual capacity of 6,000 tons, will manufacture high-end fertilisers thereby giving a significant boost to the company’s topline moving forward. Commercial production at the unit is also likely to commence shortly. The bye products of pigment plant will be used in manufacturing fertilizers at the new facility, which will enhance pigment capacity in existing plant as well.

“We are commencing the water trials at our fertiliser unit at Ratnagiri and we are hopeful of starting the commercial production shortly. We expect this foray into fertiliser industry to give a significant boost to our topline moving forward. We have been investing on state-of- the- art manufacturing products and new age technology to constantly innovate and come up with products to meet the needs of our consumers and also to boost our margin on sales. We are confident this new unit will help further strengthen our position in the industry,” Dinesh Shankarlal Sharma, MD & CEO, Kesar Petroproducts said.

Kesar Petroproducts is a leading manufacturers of Phthalocyanine Blue Crude and its downstream products in the country, contributing up to 15 per cent of the entire Copper Phthalocyanine market in the country. The company registered a turnover of Rs 48.72 (~$5.85 million) crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2024. The company had posted a turnover of Rs 148.89 crore (~$17.87 million) in 2023-24.

Kesar Petroproducts currently produces close to 600 tons per month of Copper Phthalocyanine Blue Crude, 150 tons per month of Alpha Blue, 250 tons per month of Beta Blue With this increase in fertiliser capacity the production would likely to go up to 900 tons per month of Copper Phthalocyanine Blue Crude, 200 tons per month of Alpha blue, 300 tons per month of Beta Blue. The colourants produced are used for a wide spectrum of industries and consumers including printing inks, paints and coatings, plastics, paper, ceramics, textiles, glass, food and cosmetics.
